About the Client

In 1999, Modesto natives, Brent and Stephanie Burnside, purchased the old Lincoln Wilson-Mercury Body Shop in Modesto. They put hard work into the shop and added their last name to the brand, turning it into Wilson Lincoln-Mercury Burnside Body Shop. But in 2016, they were ready for another re-brand that didn’t limit them to Lincoln-Mercury. They needed to be named something simple. A name that everyone would know; Burnside Body Shop.

Burnside is the last local shop in Modesto. Family-owned body shops have been slowly becoming extinct with national brands reaching into every community. Burnside needed a brand that could stand up tall against the national brands and show them that Burnside Body Shop won’t stand down.

Branding

We gave Burnside a classic look that was distinctive. The national brands’ logos don’t seem to capture anything regarding cars in their branding, so we gave Burnside Body Shop a nostalgic typeface that captured the era of classic cars. This kind of typeface has been used by car enthusiasts for decades and seems to truly represent a well-built car.

Social Media

Burnside’s social media presence serves as an educational tool, promotes safe driving, and is also used as a self-promotion tool. Their followers love posts that feature employees, such as service awards, birthdays, and staffing announcements.

Website

Burnside’s previous website was just plain old, from the early 2000’s. We gave their web presence a new life by removing the old-timey html-based table and setting them up with a widely used and reliable framework with a more modern design.

In light of Burnside’s big move in 2019, the new website needed to highlight the fact that they had moved to a new location. The new website also includes Podium, a customer interaction software to help customers get the help they need – and fast.

Traditional Advertising

We helped get Burnside Body Shop top-of-mind having them participate in traditional advertising. We created print ads to run in Gallo Center for the Arts, Contentment Health and Progress Magazine. The ads often focused on the personal connections with your car, safety when driving, and community support.

SEO

After an accident, a driver needs to find a collision repair center to take their damaged vehicle to get repaired. If the driver doesn’t go with the suggestion from the insurance provider, they might want to Google their options. Some searches include “body shops near me” and “auto body shop”.

By using key SEO practices, we have been able to get Burnside Body Shop higher on search results every quarter.

Film

During our 14 years with Burnside Body Shop, we’ve helped them on many marketing fronts beyond branding. This video was to be used as commercials and digital advertising for awareness campaigns. The video doubled as a PSA to remind drivers that they have the right to choose their collision repair shop in California.
