About the Client

Since 1896, Humphreys University in Stockton, CA has provided students of all educational stages a quality education in the central San Joaquin Valley. The University aims to help students pursue their Associates, Bachelors, Masters and Juris Doctor degree programs. The University has been a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit university since 1947.

Branding

In 2016, Humphreys University (previously Humphreys College) came to us for a complete brand overhaul. They wanted to position themselves as a prestigious, affordable, approachable, and available university. 

Their slogan “Higher Education, Within Reach” drove home the affordable and approachable perception, while the royal purple and gold colors and strong logo spoke to the prestige of the school.

Logo

Humphreys was looking for an identity that would rival other competing universities. The torch concept provides the concept of enlightenment to all the students. Hidden within the torch handle are the initials HU which is a nod to early formal education. Descriptive words that inspired us to arrive at this logo were: inspiration, fairness, quality, and success.

Billboards

To increase brand awareness, we suggested that Humphreys include billboards in their advertising efforts. These billboards not only promoted the school, but also specific programs that the university was to offer in the upcoming session. These billboards could be found around and between Stockton and Modesto.

SEO

When it comes to education, potential students have a ton of questions. Where do they go to get these questions answered? The internet. We wrote articles for Humphreys, and we even got them as a featured snippet in 2020!

Social Media

In a later phase, we helped with social media to really bring the brand visibility together. Their social media had previously been just photos, but we brought in fancy templates with specific ongoing content to get readers thinking about a higher education.

Digital Advertising

We helped Humphreys advertise on Facebook and Google. We suggested these two platforms to target potential students and increase a heightened brand awareness for the school and its various programs. Through brand awareness campaigns mixed with conversion and lead generation campaigns, Humphreys is now getting a 22% increase in online traffic after only 3 months of steady digital campaigning. 

The design consists of their rich purple and gold, and cleverly-used typefaces. The idea of the design is to catch the viewer’s attention, but only in the most sophisticated way.

Radio

Radio was used in conjunction with billboards and digital ads to promote the school, but also promoted those specific programs that students needed to start enrolling for the next session.

Collateral

We created a bunch of collateral for Humphreys such as application brochures, presentation folders, inserts, Drivon School of Law Tri-Fold Brochure, interest cards and so, so much more.

Website

It was critical for Humphreys’ website to be clear, since it served as a hub for future and current students looking for information. The website had to be simple to navigate, given the crucial but large amount of pages and information it needed to have.

Film

We recommended to Humphreys that they invest in a video that shares the testimonials of students who have attended Humphreys and the experience they had. The video intended to help drive interest to the school and helped potential students educate themselves on which school was best for them.
